I miss everything about this NFL presentation. Old school Soldier Field, a calm pre game show, Dick Enberg and Merlin Olsen. Unbeatable.

This is a real gem of a video. Thanks for posting. Even watching the pregame hits different. No loud-mouthed hype, just intelligent commentary and good interviews. Tony Dorsett having the eq to admit he didn't handle the Walker signing well. And Herschel Walker was thoughtful as well..

Love the fact that these guys actually acted like professionals, not over celebrating a sack, tackle, incomplete pass and doing their jobs. Excellent color and video of this game.....

What a fantastic picture! Great game too... It brings back fond memories of so many Sunday afternoons watching the Bears together with my Dad & my Uncles. In those days, I could hardly wait for halftime to arrive so we could go out and throw the ball around. My dad spent what used to be a "hefty price" for an authentic NFL game ball, which at that time was signed by Pete Rozelle. It sat in a "place of honor" on a shelf in our living room until one legendary Sunday afternoon, when my Uncles said "to hell with it" and wanted to try out a REAL NFL ball. Well, about 10 minutes and several drops on the asphalt later and that football wasn't quite as special anymore. That ball went from its place of honor on a shelf to a bucket in our garage...

Sorry for being long winded...
God Bless and I pray you're all doing well!

Losing Leslie Frazier in the Superbowl was actually devastating to the Bear defense.. the injury ended his career

Bears had one of the best teams ever in 1985, and another of the best defensive seasons ever in 1986 (fewer points per game in fact).

They also had five all pros on defense: Dave Duerson, Dan Hampton, Steve McMichael, Wilber Marshall and Mike Singletary.

The latter two first team the first three second team.

86 Bears also did something else we will more than likely never see again:

They simultaneously had the best record in the NFL (14-2), and had the lowest passer rating in the NFL (57.6; 17.4 points less than the average of the teams they were facing which was also the worst of any team in 1986).

If my memory is correct, and it’s getting old, a 14-2 team playing a 12-4 team week one. Bears coming off a 15-1 Super Bowl championship and the Browns coming off an 8-8 season and being the first team to make the playoffs without a winning record. Good game between powerhouses but no one knew the Browns were going to be that good yet.
