When I was 21 I was diagnosed with cancer. When I left the doctor's office after receiving the news, this song was the first thing that started playing on the car stereo. I decided I could take it as either a cruel joke or a rallying cry. That was nine years ago yesterday. This song still brings tears to my eyes. I love this band.

As a badly depressed teenager, this song saved my life. As though the Lord and Paul Hewson wrote this for me.

Ahhh man. It doesn't matter if Bono is 20, 40, 60 or 100. His voice is still brilliant 🤩

Tears. My wife and I walked into our wedding reception with the studio version. Still going strong 18 years later.

Starman by David Bowie fit so well in the song, what a genius Bono is <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mdDFyrGkCE&t=165">2:45</a>-<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mdDFyrGkCE&t=195">3:15</a>

On my last deployment to the desert in the Air Force we were driving around the base out processing for my last time (over 26 yrs service) and this song came on…. Home to my family, home from that overseas shithole, home for good. Will never forget this song!!!!
