Untold History | Brig (R) Haroon Explains The internationally acclaimed book “History of the Pathans” has reached its final stages with the completion of its 10th volume. Authored by Brigadier (Retd.) Haroon ur Rashid, a recipient of the Sitara-e-Imtiaz, this monumental research project began in 1987 and has already published nine volumes. In this exclusive interview conducted by Bureau Chief Peshawar, Mahmood Jan Babar, the author discusses his decades-long research on the history of Pathans living in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Subcontinent, and Afghanistan. According to his research, Pathans are descendants of Qais Abdur Rashid and the Afghan Bani Israel. Brigadier Haroon ur Rashid explains why his research should be considered credible, sharing that he studied books and historical material from across the world. He reveals that American and British scholars, and even U.S. policymakers, consulted his work to better understand the Taliban. He also highlights that the British never criticized Pathans as a nation, but only their loyal Nawabs and Khans. This video sheds light on Pathan history, identity, and global academic recognition of this groundbreaking research.. Samaa TV is one of Pakistan’s leading news and current affairs channels.
