This reminds me of Mother Theresa’s quote….in the end it’s between you and God, it was never between you and them.

The 'Let Them Theory' sounds empowering, but Jesus took it deeper—He let go, not for self-preservation, but for full surrender to the Father. 🔥 True freedom isn’t about detachment; it’s about trust. Love this perspective! 🙌

It blows my mind that people think Mel's book is some new revelation! Jesus was the example, and it's common sense. There are already many terms for this....let them go, let it go, live and let live, you can't control others, don't enable them, mind your own business, etc., etc., etc!

I initially loved the idea of Mel's Let Them Theory, but as I was watching her interviews, I can't shake off this feeling of "something's missing here" and you're very right on pointing out that this entire theory is incomplete if it only focuses on self preservation. The missing part of the equation is the LET GOD part.

“Let them…then let God”. I am a Christian and have read Mel’s book. I have taken it on board to set boundaries and let go of toxic people in my life but at the same time I hand it over to the Lord. Thanks for this video. Good message :)

I have been reading this book to help me reframe my controlling desires. She does explain in first chapter this is not new. I have been listening thru the eyes of God. So instead of just Let Them and Let Me, i am learning to Let them and Let Me bring my cares to the Lord. Let go and let God - but letting go can be passive. “Let them” helps one realize it is not our place to try to force someone to change.

I was talking to a non-Christian friend the other day, I don't speak to her often so we were catching up. She was telling me about how much her life changed when she read this book called - Let Them and she asked if I had heard of it. I had not, so she said a little bit about how it gave her so much freedom, it helped her entangle from some real co-dependant relationships she was involved in, which I thought was awesome. I said sounds like it really helped you, that's great! Later in the conversation we were talking about a situation with a person we both know and I said - you know sometimes you have to meet people where they are - that might not be where we want them to be but they might need to be seen where they are first so that's what I am doing and I pray for them. She said to me "sounds like you have already read the Let Them book" I said - nope - that comes from the Gospel!! So much of what we see in self help is based on the wisdom of Jesus, repackaged to modern sensibilities which usually means taking out the stuff he said about sin, sadly. I think as Christians we can help connect the dots so people can see the relevance of the Gospel to their lives and hopefully in time they will encounter the living Word.
