  Hmmmm Tom where Did you hear the TEAC,    I am soo impressed with that Deck it's actually well Worth the Momey,  Many people dont know until they Hear it!

  I’m 43, I spent the first 30 years of my life collecting cds….. never could get rid of them even tho I’ve had several ex women try to get me to!! Now I’m back to being a bachelor and I’ve still got all my HiFi gear that I stashed , all my cds and vinyl are back in full effect !!! It’s all making a comeback !!!

  In my humble opinion I think CD is still the king of clarity and I’ll always have a CD player in my SQ set ups in my cars.

  CDs are hard to beat, very high audio quality and unlike eg Apple music you have something physical some company cannot take away.

  I recently took an old Sony 300+1 DVD changer and coax digitally connected it to my Geshelli Labs J2 DAC.  It is now the best sounding cd player I have ever owned.

  I still use CDs - and my cd player is a Marantz CD63 Mk 2 and is 34 years old. All I've had to do is change the CD drawer mechanism belt. Sound still sounds amazing. I mainly stream via a Wiim Pro Plus but, I still have over 100 cds that my wife wanted me to get rid of - no chance on that.

  Using a 25 year old cd player and a recently manufactured DAC via SPDIF/coax you can PROFOUNDLY improve your cd playback. A new Schiit Modi DAC is just $130.

  i never stop buying cds since 1993.Before a month i bought marantz cd-6007 after 32 years.Marvellous sound and built like a tank.6.5 kilos!In my car i have alpine cd player.

  I don't stream and only listen to CDs.  I'm glad I can get new stuff still.  I had some of my original cds from when I was a kid.

  Consider .flac like a .zip. When you open a .zip file, all the original content is there after your CPU uncompresses it. Absolutely nothing is lost from the files in the .zip folder (I know these days .zip files are minimally compressed themselves, but just you get the concept). FLAC files are the same. They're "zippped" and then "unzipped" for storage/transport/playback. Converting a .wav to .mp3 on the other hand is like taking a word file (.doc) and converting it to a .txt file - you'll have all the text, but you LOSE a lot of information from the original word doc. Not perfect analogies, but you get the picture. Both save space. One preserves info while the other tosses it away.
