Well this is from 1983. It's 2026 and the culture is still here. However, the video only shows a segment of cajun culture. There are also cajuns who don't drink excessively, eat crawfish, don't care about the American Superbowl, and who attend Holy Mass daily.

It doesn't get any better than in the South! People are friendlier and know how to have a good time. Laissez les bons temps rouler!

I’m a Thibodeaux from LaFourche Parish (one of many many!). Born and raised in Louisiana. When I turned 18 I left home and since lived all over the world. This video reminded me of crabbing in Point Aux Chenes with my dad, and listening to Bobby Richard’s morning show where he would play “Swamp pop.” We’d always make it back in time to boil the crabs and watch LSU.

Their ways are as safe today as they were in 1983.

Cajun French is alive and well ..... I have friends that come down from Canada and they have no issue at all understanding french down here , I grew up in Vermilion parish and the French language is still the same as 200 years ago , preserved .........

I love my Cajun music so much. You just can't help but dance when you hear it. I miss my Louisiana.
