Shohei is a team player, has humility, high standards, he competes against himself, his teammates love him, he’s not cocky, whenever he receives an award, he thanks his teammates. He’s so awesome to watch.

Most players have respect for someone like Ohtani. Insecure, jealous players don't like him.

Respectful, kind, caring, gracious, the list of positive adjectives goes on. He shows it to his teammates, the opposing team, the umpires, the support staff, the fans. These quiet, rare qualities rarely get counted or recognized because his baseball gifts are so extraordinary, a once in a generation talent, unmatched work ethic, elite conditioning, preparation, and discipline. You won’t find those human qualities in a scout’s handbook, but they’re the traits we should all aspire to.

How can a person like that not be admired universally? What’s not to love about this role model for both life and sport!

Don't ever mention SO in same conversation with steroiders like Bonds, Rodriguez, Sosa, McGuire, Canseco, eic.. That is insulting.

Judging from his comments, he still thinks that he can improve, work his skills to an even higher level (be it pitching, hitting, baserunning), and it is this pure, innocent joy of honing his skills that drives him forward; he is a "nerd" in this sense. As long as he keeps this passion for the game, he will continue to amaze the world of baseball.

Shohei Ohtani’s otherworldly talent extends far beyond his baseball statistics.
For instance, in 2025, after being intentionally hit by a pitch, he instructed his own team’s bench to “stay put,” then walked over to the opposing bench and smiled at them. He also silenced a malicious heckler by high-fiving him after hitting a home run.
If MLB ever creates a Fair Play Award, it would deserve to bear just one name: the Shohei Ohtani Award.
