The GK remake is fine for people new to the series who might want something more streamlined or are allergic to pixel art, but it doesn't have the same charm and atmosphere that the original did. Some of the dialogue changes were odd and unnecessary, and the mini game puzzle additions felt out of place. Plus the new GK voice sounded like he was doing an Elvis impression. The original GK1 is the superior game and experience in every way. It's an absolute classic of the genre.

I soft blocked myself on my last playthrough because i didnt pick up the piece of fabric that fell to the floor when the snake dancer does her thing in the park. No chance to get it again as far as i can tell

The Gabriel Knight trilogy are the best games I've ever played (I love the mentioned The Longest Journey trilogy, but not as loved as GK). Your review is ON POINT. Just so you know: Sierra simply LOST the original audio/actor playing from the first game, hence, the new actors and music composing...

while I love this game and its charming , I am had some what bad experience with sadly because I get bug 5 times that won't let me go the next day which led me restart the game about 5 times also playing a game from is rather weird 1990s besides the issues I had with it being unable to go next day or the day 9 weird interaction the game was a great time when I finished last year . I still prefer the best within but I understand why you love this game more . Funnily enough  I do not think I heard about 20th anniversary that much I guess it make sense why. good video as always

Jane Jensen seems to have quit the gay romance novel gig and wrote a couple murder mystery ones. At least it's closer to the mark, though Gabriel Knight did have a bag and a half of lame sexual innuendos.

Sadly I only played the one with the Werewolves. The FMV were so cheesy, even cheesier than in WingCmdr 3 and 4. Maybe I'll give GK1 a try.
