An living apple orchard that old holds an incredible resource. Heritage fruit seeds holds genes that are valuable and rare. Its important that old apple varieties be preserved. They can provide new crosses, new variety and a richness of heritage that has properties modern apples have lost. Gene banks of heritage varieties are insurance against current and future diseases that could wipe out modern crops.
