Is Supergirl a worthy follow-up to Superman?

  Supergirl could’ve been so much more than what we got. Everything bad in this movie is something that was specifically amazing in the comic. The visuals are supposed to be this pulp sci-fi pastel explosion. The villain is supposed to be a commentary on what drives ordinary people to commit horrific acts of cruelty. &nbsp;The little girl is supposed to be an actual character who learns and grows and accomplishes things. And don’t even get me started on Supergirl. The entire story is supposed to be woman vs self, it’s about Kara struggling with being a symbol of hope and kindness in a world of endless cruelty.<br><br>The movie takes all of that and turns it into a muddy, desaturated flick about getting revenge on a generic evil guy with superpowers.

  I took my elderly father to see this a couple of weekends ago and we both came to the consensus on the way back home that it wasn&apos;t particularly good, but it also wasn&apos;t terribly bad either.🤷🏽‍♂️<br><br>There&apos;s been some behind the scenes stuff revealed that there were some substantial reworked edits of the movie that were done by the studio (which has worked out so well for WB in the past 🙄) and that kinda makes sense as to what the film finally came to be presented as.

  Yep, it’s not great, it doesn’t suck. That’s it. I’m sad, I really liked her small cameo in Superman.<br><br>Also I don’t think killing Krypto is the answer. I for one would’ve groaned at that point and felt like it was terribly lazy writing.

  It would’ve been considered a great Phase One Marvel movie, but it’s not 15 years ago. And yeah the comic was just a lot better across the board.
