  I am Ukrainian and I just pray everyday that at least some people in the "West" could have that level of understanding of modern day russia as dr. Mike has. Unfortunately it takes years of suffering and actually experiencing ussr and post-ussr to really grasp how much of a unnatural entity (for xxi centrury) russian empire is.

  When I was 19 I was taking patients’ vitals in a small medical office and I met an older couple who had defected from Russia. Wife was a dentist; husband a lawyer. They asked me if I had travelled much and if I loved my home - at the time, being a young adult in the military, I said that maybe there were other places that did some things better and that we weren’t perfect, and they became stern in their tone and demeanor in an otherwise very cordial relationship we’d developed together - “No, Jon, listen, no. Do you think we came here, gave up everything, our families, our home, our careers, for something a little bit better? No. You don’t understand. There is NOTHING out there the way it is here. Nothing. The things we’ve seen; the things we’ve done; where we come from, you’ve never heard of here.” <br><br>We continued to talk at their many follow up appointments (wife was malignant/inoperable). <br><br>I learned so much from them about how to sit down, shut the f6ck up and appreciate what I’ve been given - being a person who has no trouble with drive, and striving for improvement, it was such a critical concept for me and it completely reshaped the way I see the world around me. <br><br>Thank you for doing that, here, at scale. People need to know that what we have isn’t perfect, but it’s so far and away above even this idea that journalists are regularly bagged and tagged for SPEAKING out of turn. It’s just, truly incredible.

  As someone who has a degree in international relations and diplomacy, I wish Dr. Mike was one of my professors back then. We would talked game theory during the day and hit the weight room at night 😂💪🏽

  Hey dr Mike! Really great videos. Not sure if it possible but I would love to get some stats/citations as you present some arguments to get a sense of the magnitude of the claims. I can (and often) do look for it myself, but I feel it would add an extra layer of depth to your talks. <br><br>Keep up the good work
