  Slightly off-topic, but this is worth noting for non-native English speakers: Slavoj Žižek is living proof that "accent reduction" is overrated and nothing to stress about. He's a brilliant communicator whose strong accent not only doesn't hinder him — it complements his unique persona perfectly.

  Remember when we used to constantly talk about the Kardashians? Whether it was out of admiration or criticism, the simple fact that we mentioned them gave them more visibility. Now that we barely mention them, they’re fading from the spotlight. The same thing could&apos;ve happened with Trump. Unfortunately, the collective attention undeniably contributed to his political uprising, not to mention the obvious online algorithm that loves to play with our technoloy-driven impulsivities which aided him as well. As public interest wanes, so too does their visibility. But there they were, all the late night shows, news, tv programs, and other politicians to ridicule or discredit him, their constant attention only normalized his presence in our daily lives and embedded him further into the public consciousness by obsessing with him.

  People saying Zizek is a fraud are missing the point that hes just a Hegelian Philosopher who seems to try and interpret the modern world through his philosophical lens. He isn’t a politician or a media personality. People just keep inviting him on everything for over 2 decades because he has some fascinating viewpoints.
