Interesting episode, but worth keeping some perspective. I'm a technology optimist who works with AI daily — I use it to develop a physics theory and run experiments on IBM quantum hardware. The productivity gains are real and significant. <br> <br>But there's a pattern worth noticing: the people making the most extreme predictions are often the ones who took big risks early and happened to win. Survivorship bias is powerful. For every Emad there are hundreds who thought the same way and lost everything. We don't hear their podcasts. <br> <br>"Borrow as much as you can right now" is advice that costs him nothing to give and could cost you everything to follow. <br> <br>On the technology itself: we still can't simulate a fly's brain — 100,000 neurons — despite decades of trying. Not because of computing power, but because we don't understand the architecture. The gap between pattern recognition (what AI does brilliantly) and genuine physical intelligence is still enormous. The 1000-day timeline for making most human work economically irrelevant assumes that gap closes on schedule. History suggests it won't. <br> <br>Listen, think, but don't borrow.

I’ve had cowork with max for ten days. I’ve made an instagram scheduler with the features I always wanted. automated the repetitive bit of my job, integrated my Lightroom with Apple photos, created a shit ton of interactive html docs from PDFs I’ve bought etc etc. been a wild ride

the "abundance trap" framing is the part that sticks. abundance for consumers, poverty for producers. same technology, opposite outcomes depending which side of the equation you're on.<br><br>if intelligence becomes a commodity, the only things that stay scarce are atoms. power, chips, cooling. and taste.

Interesting @ <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CEXVcVEBAc&t=205">3:25</a> we can view the planning activity steps he has taken for the Ai of the future. Shifting his shelf layout and objects and positions there of. Almost looks like he figures in the future Ai will be learning about him based on the backgrounds in pictures, so he would try and get ahead of it to trick the ai to only seeing what he wants it to take away from picture backgrounds and the social biology aspects there of. That is good planning.

You guys can wait 1000 days but my day is today. THis is what my Claude CLI just did. - - Created a bridge between my windows PC and mac mini -> SSH in and setup UTM setup VM - installed windows 11 on VM -> Installed old classic DeusEx game on that windows VM navigating menus - installed the patches - Installed Unreal Editor - Load UnrealED - Created a working new DX level with a room. - Trained OpenClaw do do the same thing. - MY AGI moment!

Great interview!

Interesting to think about - specialized AI for every field and it won't be controlled by the big AI companies. We shall see what happens but makes me rethink those IPOs.
