Subansiri lower was the first project my father got posted into. He went for months into the river for surveying work while me and my mom would stay in Lakhimpur. We later moved into the colony at gerukhamukh. It was a great 7 years of my life living in that project. I have so many memories and stories.

Subansiri delay is nothing, my father started his job in THDC which was responsible for building Tehri Dam and retired and still the entire 2400 MW was not commissioned! Insane amount of money and time was wasted, never mind the widespread corruption and inefficiency in his PSU, that’s how bad developing infrastructure projects in India was, kudos to BJP to atleast eliminate this bottleneck

The Northeast region of India requires significant development and progress to address challenges such as geographical isolation, poor infrastructure, and economic underdevelopment. Despite its rich natural resources and potential, the region has historically lagged behind the rest of the country in socio-economic growth.

I am from Assam, I am very happy with the Hydro electric project that the government is taking. I hope that we could start the Siang Dam project soon. Arunanchal is an important state and it required our all of India love and care, so that it could be stand on its own and grows economically. The so called environmentalist need to understand that the need for this projects is for the whole of the nation.

Watching it from 18kms away from the project, although it's in completion stage , the whole project was a great income generator for the local population here, all local activists has made money owing to protest the dam stopping with NHPC paying bribes, NHPC had offered 20 desktop computers to my school in 2011 when I was in 8th standard even though my school was the highest in infrastructure in my area.

Water & energy are so precious. Gigantic projects with such complicated challenges. Therefore, it takes years of commitment, persuasion, hardwork and a huge investment. We are grateful to those who have such a long term vision including the government's officers. It is everyone's duty to utilise water & energy with discreteness. We must not waste them.
