As one of the lead devs for Newer DS, it's really cool to see that people enjoyed it so much! Even if it went a bit under the radar compared to Wii. The new UI and backported sound effects were some of my biggest contributions, so thanks for noticing them :)

By the way, I am one of those people you called out in the intro -- NSMBW was my first Mario game :P

I'm also part of that "new project" that was teased -- can't wait for it to see the light of day soon!

Reala then becomes an unlockable skin you can swap to at will. Still think this is one of the best "demos" ever made, especially with all the other unlockable content.

When I was a kid I thought Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii was official and I went to GameStop and asked for it and they just pointed to NSMBU 💀💀💀

NSMBW apologist here. I'll say this: If you're a 2D Mario vet and you're playing solo (or with other vets), I can see how the game can be a bit of a drag. But if you play as a group with varying levels of exposure to Mario, I think it tends to be a lot more fun. Some of my favorite gaming moments came with playing this with family and friends, and now I'm bringing others on board the Mario train with Wonder. At the end of the day, I hope there will always be a 2D Mario to load up for some casual gaming.

Personally, I'm still on Newer DS. Been having a blast so far. Skawo, Rimea, and the Newer team really put in some great work.

9:19 the cool thing about Deltarune Dojo EX is that it's not just a boss rush romhack, but that the attacks were taken from the unused attacks still found in the game's files. It's sort of like a The Cutting Room Floor page you can play, if that makes sense

4:45, the fact you ground pounded the brick blocks right as you said in voiceover “ground breaking” was really funny, I’ll be honest
