suki was sooo right for saying that dj&ts would’ve popped off during the 2014 tumblr girl phase. especially when it was during the hype of wattpad and boho-chic, festival style.

Your explanation of the changes in the relationship between Billy and Camilla were my biggest issues with the show I think. One of my favorite lines from the book was Billy explaining that Daisy is like fire she is exciting and filled with passion and light but also burns. Camilla is like Water, much more gentle, but necessary to live. That’s ultimately why he chooses to stay with Camilla, because she’s his water. I don’t think that was ever fully explained and it came off more as Billy feeling obligated to be with her and Julia then him still being truly in love with her.

Someone mentioned that the wardrobe was very "Urban Outfitters version of the 70s" and that's exactly what it was in this show.

I just don't think the songs and music was great enough to convince us that the six was the absolute greatest band at its time

While I liked that they fleshed out Simone and Camila's characters, making them have more agency outside of Daisy and Billy, respectively, they did the opposite to Karen, and I felt that she got more sidelined as a result.

My biggest problem was how old Billy looked. I know older people playing teens is the norm in TV but Sam is almost 40 (and looks it) playing a character who is supposed to be 18-25. It feels like they didn’t even try to age him down. He looks exactly the same in the interviews but without a beard lol

I’m so glad that Simone got a fleshed-out storyline in the show! In the book, she really felt like the token black friend. I loved the sisterly bond she and Daisy had in the show

honestly my UTMOST issue with the show is that it kinda watered down how much Billy (and Daisy) struggling with addiction and then sobriety. then his devotion to his family even when he was STRUGGLING to remain faithful to the man he thought he needs to be. like fr its one if not the most redeeming quality he has!! <br>great video!!

I agree they should not have left Vietnam out. It’s important to understand why Billy &amp; Graham did not go, but their band mate did and how it influenced the era. I also agree that with interviews, you won’t always get the truth. It’s how people remember &amp; what they are willing to say. The music is ok, but hits are like lightning in a bottle, it’s serendipity, you can’t just make it happen.

Daisy’s style seems inspired by Florence welch from Florence and the machine

One of the changes that I struggled with the most was partly Karen &amp; Graham&apos;s relationship, and ultimately the impact it has on Graham &amp; Billy&apos;s. In the book, Graham very desperately seeks Billy out because he&apos;s struggling with his relationship with Karen, and one of the reasons it takes so much out of him to bring it up is because it&apos;s a secret. He goes to Billy, and there&apos;s this very frustrating back and forth where he&apos;s trying to tell him what he&apos;s feeling, and Billy keeps going on about himself; about the music, about Daisy, whatever the hell is going on with him. He steamrolls over him multiple times throughout the book, and this time, Graham pulls away and decides he&apos;s had enough. It puts a strain on them and that&apos;s why everyone is so mad during the last show. I would&apos;ve really loved to see this - the impact of Billy&apos;s main character syndrome - instead of just Eddie being frustrated no one listens to him.

Personally, Camila&apos;s style was my favorite because it would show her varied aesthetics as a mother but also as a rockstar&apos;s wife. For instance, when she&apos;s at the final concert, she stands out from the rest of the crowd as she looks sophisticated yet chic with her fur coat and sunglasses. I think her style also shows a juxtaposition to daisy because while daisy&apos;s look always looked a little messy, Camila always looked clean both literally and phyiscally (drugs). Camila looks like the life she is living, one of a wife of a rockstar who knows how to dress because to some extent she is also part of the band. I also wish suki&apos;s performance had more emotions and I feel like in the book she had more emotional depth as a woman, I feel like through acting she could&apos;ve taken it the extra mile. Also, I think that they should&apos;ve highlighted the relapse scene a little more because in the book that was a major turning point where he realized he had to stay true to his promise to camila. I wish, like you mentioned, that there was more emphasis in the fact that the narrators are unreliable because it would have made the story more clear for people that haven&apos;t read the book and would make them want to read the book!
