Oh that’s interesting. I have a 2016 leaf S 24kwh with 93,000kms currently at 81% SOH. And I believe my HX is around 63.5. Nice to compare to another 24kwh.
Excellent video! Thank you

Hey Mike, my 2018 Japanese import has very similar SOH and Hx, which is interesting as I'm in QLD and we don't get too cold, but it can reach 40°C and over. Thanks for sharing!

As the name of the car is an acronym, LEAF, the plural is actually LEAFs. Another strange LEAF fact, although the later models look so much larger than the original car, the middle section is exactly the same, doors, roof, floorpan and wheel base. Even the switchgear was the same, just moved around the cabin to look different. The newer model has more overhang, the boot pan was enlarged to give more boot space, which makes the earlier cars easier to park and a better town car.

Very helpful videos as always. '15 SV owner here and looking at a '22 SV Plus remotely so can't check LeafSpy sadly. Car is showing 211 miles of range at full charge with 100K on the odo and original 62kw battery? Is this realistic or was the BMS possibly reset by the dealer at some point? It is for sale by a dealership, not private party. TIA!

I have a 2015 LEAF S with the original 24 kWh battery. I live just outside of Montréal. My daily commute is 130 km. I charge Level 1 at night at home and free Level 2 at work (indoor parking). I still have 10 of the original 12 bars. I just pass the 230,000 km last week. I hope to reach 300,000 km with the original battery. Almost never go below 15% but I always charge to 100%. Don’t have the LEAF spy so I can’t give you my SOH or the other details you are showing in your video.

What have been done to that 2015 24 kWh car at just 70000 km.
I sold mine from the same year at 78.000 km it was 92% and had ALL 12 bars.

I bought a used 2021 Nissan Leaf SV Plus in 2025 because it cost the same as the used 2021 Toyota Corollas in eastern Ontario. Better still, this Leaf only cost $235 in electricity to drive 10,000 KM in 2025-26. I still need to buy the proper OBD2 reader that you recommended to me earlier and used once more in this video to pair with LeafSpyPro, but I also kept track of the exact cost of the Leaf in a spreadsheet by taking note of the kilometers driven between charges and the percentage of the battery before and after each charge, as well as the cost of electricity in kWh that goes into the 60 kWh battery. With those datapoints, you can calculate the real efficiency and maximum range of any EV.

This data show that in the summer of 2025 (so from late May, when I bought it, until mid-October, when the temperatures plunged), my Leaf achieved an average, real-world range of 337 KM/charge. The 2nd-gen Leaf Plus had an official maximum range of 344 KM; this difference of only seven kilometers means that the battery had degraded by only 2% after four years and 50,000 KM on the odometer. As far as I'm concerned, that's an excellent score and shows that the media have blown these fears about degrading batteries out of all proportion. These Leafs, with their air-cooled batteries, do lose up to 40% of their range in winter, but this didn't matter to me and in my commutes and driving around town.

Some Leafs will have defective batteries, just as some ICEs have defective timing chains or headgaskets or whatever, but this does not mean that all EVs fail.
