So, Nemo was seemingly a vengeful Mnemonic entity of sorts, that made sure Mason and Ethan were held accountable for Evan's death. It sounds like that to me because of the various things we were told: Alex told us that the others didn't like Evan, that they constantly told him it was an accidental death, etc. The fact they constantly refused to talk about him and only Alex was willing to say anything about Evan also adds to this. Idk if Nemo somehow made them disappear using an apparition of Evan's vengeful spirit, so they'd be forgotten just like they tried to make Alex forget about Evan or what. Cuz based on what Mason said before he disappeared, it sounded like he saw Evan outside his house.

It’s so sweet Alex remembered Evan.. but sad that the others disappeared and did not remember him. Nemo I think was possibly Evan (just a theory) but Nemo never really seemed to do anything to Alex only as questions that Alex answered as if Nemo already knew it all.
