  &quot;How do you build fandom?&quot;<br><br>I remember an episode of game grumps where Dan Harmon was appearing as a guest, and he was asked if the runaway success of Rick &amp; Morty surprised him. To paraphrase, he answered, no, not entirely, because in order to create something and put it out there, you have to be its first fan. <br><br>That other people might also love your art should make intuitive sense, because you love it too. Through your art, you&apos;re reaching for people&apos;s humanity, because you&apos;re both sharing in the experience of finding something awesome. If you don&apos;t love what you&apos;re making, you can&apos;t connect to someone else with your art, because you aren&apos;t exposing any part of your own humanity to them. How can you build a fanbase when you aren&apos;t even a fan of yourself?

  The Mr. Beast ad read for Honey where he tells kids to go on their parents&apos; PCs and install it had me staring dead-eyed at the video for like a minute

  Your lane is pretty much social and media entities that are either in deep crisis or already toast. Inviting you with other creators is like assembling a team of doctors for second opinions and including the coroner to get a head start on the inquest. Quality as usual.

  The main thing I&apos;m left with here is an even greater respect for the creative team behind Taskmaster. They&apos;ve done more than a score of seasons, with a number of tasks somewhere in the high hundreds by now, and despite the fact that they do not test tasks out ahead of time, it is <b>extremely</b> rare for a task to fail utterly. Even though the explicit purpose is to <b>produce comedy</b> rather than to award people money or act as a genuine test of anything, there have been only a handful of moments where the planned activity was either way too difficult or way too easy for the participants.<br><br>There&apos;s a weird lack of empathy on display for the beast games activities. The same brains that assume people will randomly lie about the colours on other peoples&apos; heads for no reason, also assume no one will even look at their neighbours&apos; block stacks?

  Jimmy describing Mark Rober as &quot;learning such complex topics in 20 minutes&quot; is a lot more telling than I think people are giving it credit for. The topics in Mark Rober&apos;s videos are not particularly complex, at least not on the level he&apos;s covering. He makes supplementary edutainment videos for middle schoolers. He&apos;s not Richard Feynman. And 20 minutes is nowhere near enough to cover the totality of these subjects; he&apos;s making videos more so to inspire curiosity and further exploration, rather than being a complete lecture in and of itself—Mark knows that, and its weird that Jimmy Beast doesn&apos;t. The kind of person who thinks that Mark Rober&apos;s videos are &quot;teaching complex topics&quot; (and implies that videos like them could/should supplant the current education system) is exactly the kind of person who&apos;d categorize crypto influencers as &quot;smart&quot; and &quot;challenge&quot; them by making them play Simon.

  He was hoping to find an heir to his chocolate empire through process of elimination, but it was poorly thought out and no one fell for the obvious traps placed throughout the tour

  Basically Folding ideas gave mr beast a 1 1/2hr consulting video for just $2100. Definitely cheaper compared to McKinsey.

  Next theory: Mr Beast was going to do &quot;&apos;The most Dangerous Game&apos; in Real Life&quot; and hunt you all for sport, but the thumbnail didn&apos;t work out so he pivoted to a tour.

  There is something incredibly sinister-feeling about a wealth-obsessed billionaire screaming at and incentivising &apos;regular&apos; people to lie and be cruel to each other for money, particularly when they just...don&apos;t? Or like the circle game, where there was absolutely no reason to lie or be selfish? It&apos;s giving &quot;See!! Everyone is as obsessed with wealth and uninterested in human decency as I am!!!&quot;.
