  I love how Katherine brings up the water pollution issue in Dalian constructively and conscientiously. I don&apos;t think she will hurt anyone&apos;s feelings.   The phenomenon of &quot;bad money driving out good money&quot; is prevalent here: if just one business uses false advertising—like stock photos—to attract customers and succeeds, other businesses will be forced to follow suit and become &quot;bad money&quot; too; otherwise, they’ll get no customers. This is all too common in China and plays out in countless areas, from food delivery to many others.<br> <br>Businesses themselves can’t break this cycle. Even if some want to, they can’t. Only government regulation can fix it: by banning the use of fake photos to deceive consumers, those businesses that never wanted to cheat in the first place will be able to operate honestly. In short, someone has to step in—specifically, to rein in the &quot;bad money.&quot;
