If you're wondering why some videos are no longer available, unfortunately Warner Bros keeps filing copyright claims against our videos, We hope that with the sale of Warner, the treatment of the people who keep the franchise alive will change :(
Thank you to all our Members who make this possible.

I knew she was bad because she demands you take (accept) cookies before she’ll engage with you. Classic evil tech behavior

They need to make a movie about the first anomoly that freed the first people.

The part about Neo not knowing if he can trust the Oracle is some of the most honest takes we have about anyone. She straight up tells him he can't know if he trusts her or not until he chooses if he will or not, and the same goes for anyone, human or machine.
We never know if we can trust anyone, but distressing over it might be more in the realms of paranoia, especially to villainize someone for this. It would make everyone a villain unnecessarily when the ball is in your court to choose what you do with this basic information that unless you're intruding on personal thoughts you don't know if you can trust a person. She said he'd have to make up his own mind, and that's true for us all.
It's less so who you trust and more what you trust, and she told him to trust his own discernment. This may have even helped bridge the divide enough later on that Neo stood a chance at bringing the peace. It went from "us vs them" to "working smarter, not harder."

The detail and timing of her closing her fingers just before hitting the window 👌

Trinity folding her fingers right before the impact with the window which wasn't in the comic panel impressed me way more than I would've anticipated. Such a great, meticulous attention to the details.

Even in 1999, action scenes on moving trains were way overdone. Her leap through the window had never been done and was completely mindblowing.

Not having the train scene in the first film allowed the highway scene to be made in Reloaded. If they stuck with the train, the trucktop scene would have been eye-rolling instead of glorious and spectacular.

i think the characterization of the oracle as a villain is short-sighted. she's manipulative but she's not a villain, it's pretty clear she manipulated everyone, including the architect.
the architect is very clearly an incarnation of hierarchical and patriarchal systems, that dominate our current world. the oracle then symbolizes and incarnates the idea of subversion and influence. so yes, she's manipulative but she's ultimately working to subvert the matrix itself. if anything she's looking even farther than the humans alone are.

the thing is that the architect's ideal system had always been self-contradictory. it's unsustainable, inhuman, and mathematically impossible. but he implemented multiple iterations of it anyway, and the part of the machine society he represents would keep doing it to maintain control whether it worked or not, because they value power and hierarchy above everything else. notice how in his dialogue the architect has only contempt and disgust for the oracle, and only credits her as being the "mother" of the matrix when he admits the system is deeply flawed.

the oracle then tricks the architect with the "stabilization" provided by the inclusion of choice, an option the architect could not turn down because, by the numbers, it was literally the most effective way of keeping his fundamentally broken system running, but at the same time her inclusion sealed the system's fate and she knew this. all that was needed was an iteration of the anomaly that had a different focus for their love, for the whole thing to crumble and finally open an window of opportunity where a way out might be implemented, and that, she could give a little push to make sure it would happen rather fast (in fact, it took only 6 iterations, not something close to 100 ones).

there's the scene where the oracle talks about how programs can become faulty over time and how they are recycled when this happens, usually against their own will. this is not mentioned on accident, it's to highlight that such societal structures are bad for everyone except for those at the very top, and even then, even those at the very top are not happy with it. the oracle has this understanding and won't stand for a world without either machines or humans. she's not trying to perpetuate the matrix, she's not trying to end it either, she's trying to put an end to the war itself. when you consider this, then her actions leading to the creation of agent smith become a lot more understandable, she literally masterminds the creation of a common enemy at the same time that she causes a crisis in the matrix's stability to force both machines and humans into the kind of codependence that requires the messy sharing of power rather than domination.

The Oracle is a highly sophisticsted computer program that can calculate human emotion so accurately that she can actively manipulate real humans into doing what she wants them to. No bullying, no threats, just pure trickery.
It frightens me to think that some companies today are actively seeking to build AI that can identify human emotion and generate a response calculated to influence whatever outcome the owner of the AI would prefer.

Even though you’ve taught many of these points previously, I appreciate the repetition as some of these findings - backed up with clear evidence and supported by other related matrix materials I didn’t review - weren’t intuitive and it takes awhile to make it second nature. The films are brilliant in that any level of understanding works but I want to know the deepest truths inside and out. 😊

yes, the Oracle was not on Neo's side per se`, but they had a mutual goal of bringing peace to the machines and humans. In that regard, even though she set the chess board - she tilted the odds in favor of peace. So she was rooting for Neo, even though she did not know if he would make the right choices. That doesn't mean she was against the Machines either.

If Neo is the sixth anomaly, then the previous five fulfilled their prophecies—that is, they rebooted the Matrix and recreated Zion. This means that Morpheus not only survived all these events but also remembers them. This means that Morpheus is a program.
P.s. By the way, initially the idea was not to use people as batteries, but as processors.
