This ant documentary will help you! Probably not under this name. They are better known as the Asian Marauder Ants – one of the most extraordinary ant species in the world. Carebara diversa are native to South and Southeast Asia and are famous for their extreme worker polymorphism. The smallest workers are just a few millimeters long, while their enormous super majors (soldiers) can be up to 20 times larger. This makes them one of the most visually striking and unique ants studied by entomologists. Unlike mound-building ants, Marauder Ants construct vast underground colonies that can house millions of individuals. When they forage, they create massive foraging trails, moving like living rivers across the forest floor in search of seeds, insects, and other food. Fun fact: Carebara diversa colonies can adjust the size and number of workers depending on food supply. This incredible flexibility makes them true masters of colony organization, division of labor, and survival strategies. If you’re curious about ant behavior, soldier castes, or foraging raids, make sure to watch this video until the end. You’ll discover why Carebara diversa is often compared to army ants—and why they are one of the most fascinating insect species on Earth. Terminology to speak about Carebara diversa : Polymorphism: Extreme variation in worker sizes within the same colony. Caste system: Specialized roles like minors, majors, super majors, and queen. Foraging trails: Coordinated ant highways searching for food. Super majors: Giant soldier ants defending the colony.
