A relative got a cockatiel for a child and he lost interest after a couple of years. I took the bird and tried to rehome it. But I ended up with her and I just kept her. My Shirley bird was my friend and I miss her. She was 16 years old when she passed.

Aww your cockatiels are so sweet. I wanted to buy one for my 8 year old, she’s always been fascinated by birds. But I’ve changed my mind as you say it’s a huge commitment. If say it’s easier to have a car or a dog than a bird. That is of course if you want your bird to live its best life.
