He was a forgotten local star from Santiago. Then Juan de Marcos Gonzalez asked him to sing for the Buena Vista Social Club recordings. Then in his mid 70's, Ibrahim became a world wide sensation even winning a Grammy for best new Latin Artist. What a great fairy tale story.

One of the greatest musicians of all time. He walks through his old streets with so much confident swagger, and yet is clearly so humble and loving to every single person he passes. He never forgot that he did all this for them specifically and he clearly loved his country and his people more than anything. A complete legend.
