Imagine landing a crash landing so well that they could just swap the engine and take off again

This is one of my fav episodes of mayday. Dardano & his crew made a lot of people really proud.

I love this captain. I would fly with Dardano any day, any time.. This mofo landed an 85,000+ Lb plane on a levy, without any engine power (he had the APU for hydraulics) with no airframe damage. AND, he had no depth perception due to a previous injury. That's a pilot right there.

I remember this accident. It's amazing on so many levels, from the pilot losing his eye & still managing to fly his passengers out, the landing on the levy & flying the accident plane back out again; truly astonishing

I know it's only a recreation but those moments of joy from the flight crew legitimately put a lump in my throat. I can't fathom what that feeling must be like. Legendary flight crew.
