Had a former friend give feedback on scripts I've written in the past, and I didn't see it until later but the way he was giving the feedback was more about satisfying his ego than actually helping me. Which I'll admit shook my confidence in myself as a filmmaker, but I'm writing my biggest film project to date and he's not gonna get eyes on it at all.

Best advice I ever received about scriptwriting is &quot;Don&apos;t Direct On Paper.&quot; <br><br><i>EXT. GARY&apos;S HOUSE - DAY</i><br><br><i>With a satisfying SPLOOSH, Gary dumps the rest of the bucket of sudsy water on his Red 1968 Mustang and WHISTLES &nbsp;&quot;ZIPPTY DO DAH&quot; as he cleans his car, oblivious to the happy little blue bird perched on a wire high above the windscreen</i><br><br>You can visualize this scene in many different ways. You probably already have a Wide Shot in mind, maybe a Dolly Zoom Out to reveal the bird. Let the Directors figure out what to do. Your job, as a writer, is to give the reader brain food. How many jokes can you find in my scene?

This is a perfect introduction. &nbsp;I just wrote a treatment and showed it to a director who like it and wants me to start a script. &nbsp; She did tell me to learn as much as I can about how to write a script as possible. &nbsp; She even suggested that book you mentioned Save the Cat. &nbsp;<br>Thank you for posting this video.

I really appreciate your great advice. These positive tools are a stepping stone to success. I am a writer: had a few short stories and poems published; and planning to published my first book. I am taking a massive leap of faith, to become a movie screen writer. I have 3 amazing stories in my head - and have to share it with the world. Our gifts and talents cannot go wasted. God bless, regards from Cape Town, South Africa

The best part about log-lines is imagining it on screen as a description for your movie.

I&apos;m half way through writing a script.<br><br>It&apos;s organic so I&apos;m developing extra ideas as I go along, and the characters develop<br><br>What is it? Can&apos;t tell you at the moment, but it is a prequel, and involves a study of schizophrenia, a very long journey, but ultimately appalling deaths with no redemption

The second part of the video is even more important. Its when we follow the ideas and how they want to be, not considering the audience, it becomes a very true and honest story and how it should be in that world
