The fact that an actual scientist like Sean Carroll has to debate a crank like eric whom the likes of Joe Rogan have elevated as some kind of respectful scientist shows how bad the media environment is

What Sean Carroll does is equivalent as normal criticism from my advisory board during the first year of PhD when I was over hyping my results and not having done the actual work yet. It's part of the job as a scientist to take criticism, this allows you to improve.
