IFA was a blast and it was my first time traveling to Europe! So if I look jet-lagged then you know why. 🤣

Hanging out with all the smart home creators and the Home Assistant team is always so much fun! Thanks to everyone who came up and said hi. You guys are so nice!

Yeah with LG owning a controlling stake in Homey, it's pretty much inevitable that homey is going to start very intensely spying on you...

The problem with DREO and the likes is that they keep retiring older models so you can't get replacement filters for them. I switched to IKEA air purifiers with Tapo smart plugs and Netatmo air quality sensors to automate it in Home Assistant.

LG should focus on removing their current spyware before selling anything else than goes into your home...

That Ultra Bar looks like the desktop “auxiliary screen + buttons” I’ve been wanting. Perfect form factor for placement below a primary monitor. Fits much better than a square Stream Deck.

This reminds me that I'd really love to know what you'd choose if you were starting today. The main thing stopping me from investing further in my overall smart home tech is not knowing which tech to pick without over complicating my setup and life generally.

Love the creator shade at Paul, lol. I'm glad HA was popular, no way I could (or should) trust a company like LG in my house, but my local AI agents and I need more HA toys!
