  What the Mormon church dares to call a 'faith crisis' is in fact a perfectly justified questioning of obviously man-made doctrine.

  The hypothetical film scene where Emma reads a statement to the RS not knowing Joseph is already married to all 3 of her counselors ... its not comedy or drama... that belongs in a psychological horror.

  This whole thing is enraging to me as not a Mormon but a Queer person. I&apos;m old enough to remember LDS money and muscle being put behind Prop 8. They would claim &quot;Marriage has only ever been between one man and one woman, unchanging under God&quot; and clearly in their OWN CHURCH that is complete lie! In fact their marriage definition changed at least twice - first to polygamy, then to outlawing polygamy (at least officially). And you know, it wouldn&apos;t be so bad if they came out and admitted it: &quot;we erred in our history and at one point supported polygamy.&quot; But instead, they took the &quot;deny, deny, deny&quot; route, and when they could no longer deny it, tried to get ahead of the story by saying &quot;well ok yes there was polygamy, but it was more acceptable then, it wasn&apos;t so bad, look, we&apos;re giving you the details, we&apos;re being honest now!&quot; How dare they decide &quot;actually it wasn&apos;t so bad, lol&quot; while continuing to declare Queer relationships immoral and evil and &quot;short of God.&quot;<br><br>Thank you for enduring my brick of text, this is just so vile to me.

  I remember watching a movie in seminary about Joseph asking Heber C Kimball for his wife and then saying it was a test. Learning that he then got their daughter...... classic withholding of all the facts.

  I think it would be great to do a documentary on Joseph&apos;s life. &nbsp;Like Warren Jeffs one. &nbsp;More people would realize the deception.

  Joseph Smith immortalized himself through these teaching. Women today are still having to choose between what they want and what Joseph says. &nbsp;<br>Just last year I was told by several women and my Bishop that my family was not eternal, because my husband didn&apos;t believe anymore. So I had the choice to leave a man that has become better since finding God in taoism and Zen Buddhism OR stay with him and risk my eternal salvation 😮. <br>Thankfully I chose him. And a year later found this podcast, and finally through a lot of tears, the pieces are falling together. <br><br>Thank you❤🙏

  It’s one thing to be like, “Yeah, Joseph Smith had many wives, it’s a bummer.” It’s an entirely different thing to read those wives’ journals.

  When Joseph used &quot;harsh measures&quot; to control Emma, does that mean he was beating his wife, because she was upset that he was committing adultery?

  Things I learned from reading Rough Stone Rolling: Joseph had very few (maybe 2) new marriages after dictating D&amp;C 132. Patrick Mason is right, there is nothing about Mormon polygamy that looks morally acceptable.
