Love your lecture, professor. I don't watch any TV, movies. I recently lost my husband, and sent my daughter to the college. Your lectures keep me company. Thank you so much

"The generation that could read Hegel is dead". This hits even harder knowing that he is no more in this world. 🥺 Rest in peace, Professor Sugrue!

Rest in peace professor Sugrue 🙏<br>I just finished the phenomenology of mind yesterday. I likely would not have endeavored to tackle such literary works and concepts without the inspiration that has been gifted from the great professor. Thank you Michael Sugrue, you will not be forgotten.

&quot;Sometimes misreadings can be very useful and very thoughtful.&quot; (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0F8REGux8qs&amp;t=2624">43:44</a>) I love how boldly provocative this premise is to end the lecture on. My undergrad self who&apos;d say things like, &quot;Boy, misreading of authorial intent has done a lot of damage&quot; would&apos;ve flinched at the implications. Of course, it arguably can do so, yet sitting here 15 year later I can not only nod along, but find that defetishizing of textually fixed intent is nevertheless necessary and in the &quot;spirit&quot; of a Hegelian dialectic.<br><br>Thanks for uploading these lectures! R.I.P. Dr. Michael Sugrue.

Thank you so much. Your lectures have significantly benefited my understanding of so.many topics, as I prepare for own lectures as a young Philosophy professor at a local community college. You have been an incredible resource for me.
