The coffee beans for deodorize.
Big tips for you: Try find some apartment far away from the rivers, the bridge or the beach. Those area usually noisy and higher rental price. You can still rent big apartment within 300-500 usd easily.

wow that's not even that cheap. if you're willing to live in rural texas or the midwest you can basically find 1 bedrooms for the same price.

You rented the apartment during peak season and for a short term. Prices are much better already.

That part about checking for construction before moving in and still getting surprised a month later really captures the problem which is Da Nang changes fast! I’ve been building DillDrill to give renters another way to check nearby construction before committing, and to report changes when new work appears. It won’t predict every new project, but your experience is exactly the kind of case I had in mind.

I also get a better value from my rent in Bangkok. I am paying more here in Da Nang without any amenities. My condo in Bangkok has pools, co-working space, gym, and many more. Rent here in Da Nang is just very inflated. The real estate agents here also are still learning how to be professional, thus they don't really update their listings, they use nice looking listings although it is no longer available, just to attract inquiries. Although there are agents like that in Bangkok too, but it's not as prevalent. I did not really struggle much to find a place in Bangkok since many of the agents I got in contact with are very professional - in a sense that they are very straightforward, honest, and also reasonable - they will really help you find a place based on your requirements and budget.

Oliver, have you tried changing the wifi settings? If you play around with the channel number or channel width you can sometimes improve stability.
Also choosing 2.4g vs 5g

I would love to live in Da Nang, but as a remote worker I work on PST, which means I would have to start work at 10PM and knock off at 6AM and then sleep during the day. I've been to Da Nang 8 times in the last three years and when I work from there I am constantly fatigued.

I don't think I've heard "actually" this many times in one video.

In about 1 year, prices will drop like a rock. Extreme over building. We'll over 8 thousand units will be online by early 2027. Actually, by the end of 2026 6 thousand units will be online, so prices will drop. HCMC is starting to feel that effects of over building. Rents and prices shot up 200-300% in 2 years' time. Now they've stopped, and some are starting to SLOWLY go down.
