Jenna and Emma admitted publicly they are over-scheduled and didn’t have much time for themselves and spend time together like they did for season one. Also, it has been suggested somewhere that the red carpet touch was Jenna trying to cheer up Emma who was exhausted

Everyone keeps mentioning how dumb it was to "wait" three years to bring out season 2., except that didn't happen by choice. It was because of the writer strikes and the production strikes. And once there is a delay, actors and crew can't just sit around and wait for new schedules to finalize. They have to book new jobs to keep their profile and earn an income, so it takes awhile before everyone is available again.
Also it takes nearly a year and a half just to MAKE a season, so there's never going to be less than that between seasons. There's preproduction(script writing, set building, costuming, hiring staff, etc.), shooting(8 months), and post production(editing, CGI/animation, music and sound, etc.). In the old days tv shows used to start broadcasting while they were about 4 episodes into production, but now with streaming platforms and movie-quality production values, budgets and expectations, the industry has changed completely.

I'm an old fart but this series reaches deep inside to that weird teen I was back in the 80s, who loved (and still loves) that which is off the beaten path, no matter who mocks it. Stay weird, y'all!

The cast dynamic is really sweet. Also I love Agnes so much she’s such a great new character and Evie does such a great job playing her! The entire cast is REALLY good at their roles though.
