  I love Dansville. Half hour from Finger Lakes.  Half hour from Letchworth State Park. One hour from Rochester. Great hospital. Super friendly people.

  Obviously, who or whatever AI,wrote this has never actually lived in New York State.<br>The taxes are very high, the state budget is billions in the red.<br>It costs too much to live here and moving away is unaffordable for many.

  I am surprised plattsburgh ny is not listed...20,000 people, large full svc hospital with university of Vermont hospital affiliation 30 miles away, located alongside a 425 sq mile lake, on a major interstate, reasonable, tho not cheap home prices, a state university, a community college, montreal 62 miles distant, drive time to both Boston and nyc of 5 hrs, and a small city steeped in history from the revolutionary war and war of 1812.

  No retiree wants to move to a area that has over 100 inches of snow a year, thats why these homes are cheap. Ottawa Canada &apos;s hospitals are Canadian not U.S. their health care is so called free and you need to be a citizen to get care there.

  move to East TN in 2010 when I retired to be closer to family from the Albany area. this fall I&apos;ll be moving back. am looking at Finger Lakes area or Kinderhook, still debating which.
