I have a large class A RV. We have motion sensor lights outside and also security cameras. I can see everything around us. I have a dog, two guns, a stun gun and pepper spray. One night we were parked in a store parking lot and some teenagers decided to pound on one of the sides. I turned on the outdoor lights, opened a window shade, pointed my shotgun at them and asked who wanted to be the first to go to hell. They got very scared, ran to their cars and left very quickly. We then drove to the next town and stayed at a campground. That was the only time we had any problems.

I have traveled all over the US by myself. My number one rule is don't be the only one in a park or a parking lot and always go with your gut. Sometimes rest areas are more safe. Again... same rule, never park there by yourself. If there are semi trucks and other vehicles you will be a lot safer. Even in an RV with 2 other girls, we pulled into a rest area and it was totally dark, and guess what? WE LEFT.

Always lock your doors! Take your seatbelt and put it through the area on the door that it can slide through and then pull it and buckle it. This way it secures the doors and they can’t be open- truckers do this all the time.

My husband says the number one rule is never to get out of the car when under uncertain circumstances. I must say I agree with the rule especially like in this case.
We always enjoy your vlogs immensely as they feature beautiful footage and useful tips. Most of all, we like that you show real van life, no exception here.
But it too shall pass, keep the morale up!

My Wife and I almost had the same thing happen to us, a couple that were high on drugs with a young child were causing a racket with super loud music and swearing their heads off, so I went over to them to tell them to turn the music down and all hell broke loose. Police came and we ended up moving to another place away from those clowns. The police were really nice towards us and ended up arresting the other two. Felt really bad for the young child, those type of people should never have kids. But my wife and I still camp with the RV and it's all been good since. Be safe out there.

Have you guys thought of having cameras on the outside; all sides so you can see what’s going on outside for safety. Yes always keep your doors lock at all times

I was a 911 dispatcher for 5 years. There are a lot of very unstable people out there you guys. Please have protection like a firearm with you at all times & know how to use it correctly. I took many calls that in our rural area if some of these people had not had a firearm they would have been dead by the time my deputy reached their home. It is unfortunate but it is the world we live in. Please consider it if at all possible. So glad you are safe & hopefully take steps to be even safer in the event this occurs again.

I guess its another reminder to not leave anything outside overnight so you can just exit quickly if you need to. Something we will remember thanks for that. Also makes me wonder about making sure in those types of environments not to use the levelling chocks, cause you would probably would have to abandon them. I guess always park the van so that you have a clear exit, I notice you often reverse into the park. Keep safe guys 🤠👱🏻‍♀
