I have had a 2004 Cubic for 3 years now. Done 70k kms in it. I. FEEL. VINDICATED.
A few little owner's notes, join the groups, avoid the CVT, get a decent throttle controller. My other car is an '06 Saab 9-3 Linear Convertible but I always still giggle when driving the Cubic. I plan on doing an engine swap eventually but I can't get passed the practicality. I am also a Disability Support Worker and have had 5 people, 3 walkers, shopping and luggage in it at the same time.
I have had fridges, double beds, 300 bricks, helped several people move with it.
Also, there's a mob in England that do camper kitouts for them.

At 43 sec in, I'm yelling OMG. Who in the hell thinks that is okay to carry a boat in that manner.

Had a 2004 Cube Cubic with the CVT, had mine since 2010 up until 2023. Had a cracked head, the Nissan Micra K12 engine is a straight swap, speaking to a Cube expert in QLD, Cube Cars, they said, apparently it's a common issue with the Cube engine with cracked head. My Cube had a great run, up to the point I sold it to scrap metal.

I’m in northern Japan now on holiday. It’s shocking to see cars that aren’t that old rusting out . Don’t buy a car from Hokkaido. Snow and salt will do that to a car.

I used to service one of these for a friend of mine. Awesome little car, except for the oil consumption. Had to service it every 5000 km, any longer and there would be no oil showing on the dipstick. Great to drive around town, but struggled at highway speeds.
