  The reason Garchomp was unbanned in 2012 is that it’s hidden ability was finally released and it no longer needed to run sand veil. So it was technically possible to run it outside of evasion close.

  Small correction, deoxys-d wasn&apos;t actually banned for being too good defensively, it was actually pretty manageable with how high the power level was for general attacks. The real problem was when people started running it like it was a deoxys-s, by running max speed and stacking hazards on offense teams.
