  Gibraltars such a strange story. Spain has cities in morocco yet refuses to aknowledge the irony of Gibraltar not being Spanish since the 1600s

  it's fascinating how geography plays a role in warfare. even in the modern age. point being that it's not as if any if you couldn't just set up a military fort/dock on any other part of the vast shoreline between Spain & Morocco and arguably be just as effective. but because Gibraltar is a jutting outcrop of the land it gets all this special attention.

  I never realized how small Gibraltar truly was! Looking at your abstracted silhouette map and the docks, I figured they weren't too scale. One quick pull up of google maps and lo and behold, they were. Such a rich history for such a tiny place.

  for being such a tiny place Gibraltar really is fascinating, it's no coincidence that when creating my world's geography for my d&d campaign i run i started with 2 peninsulas reaching off separate continents with a small strait separating the 2 & a long history of crossings + trade. Thanks for the inspiration Gibraltar lol
