Can a 55MB Linux Distro Save This 20-Year-Old Laptop?

I don't think the web browsers are really at fault here. The problem is that modern web pages simply overload the computer. Most distros have lightweight YT players that are able to load videos just fine. Props to the Slitaz community for making a distro that brings this old computer back from the dead.

Slitaz is very underrated...

I remember back in like 2008 I got a Pentium 4 machine with almost no RAM and I stumbled upon slitaz which, even then, was for low spec computers, as a 12 year old I loved the logo instantly.
Nice video man, as always!

I really like your videos. I have an old 7in netbook running Win CE 6.0. It has an ARM WM 8650 cpu and only 256MB RAM. Never found an alternative usable modern OS for it. It is the only machine at home that I was not able to make usable. I had it for many years running Android 2.2 but it is useless today. The maximum I was able to do is to upgrade Win CE to 7.0 version - it has a very old Office package compatible with modern Office but that is all

nice video, but 32-bit SliTaz uses a vintage kernel 3.16! (see neofetch screen). Thus unacceptable for real use.

Maybe Jellyfin playback could be one of your segments. Currently looking for a low spec 32bit jellyfin player…

Small fast but no apps

The big issue here is the old software versions in its repository. Modern web requires up-to-date browsers, but it is heavy for very old machines like that.
Maybe some more recent versions of lightweight browsers like SeaMonkey or Falkon could give it a better chance in more websites. The OS itself is not the bottleneck.
