  Before Independence - Congress wasn&apos;t a single political ideology, it was a group of ideologies united for a common cause - self governance for Indians. <br>Post independence - it reduced to a party with a single political ideology - how a single family could retain power to rule over India.

  I&apos;m an oldie &amp; was a kid during Emergency. I recall the adults talking about what was going on. &nbsp;It was terrible. &nbsp;It&apos;s surprising that our Sikh &amp; Muslim compatriots actually vote for the Congress after what they had to go through during the Emergency &amp; in 1984. For the future of our country, we can never go back to Congress rule. &nbsp;The mind boggles that people still vote for the Congress!
