Stories like this are so dumb. Literally NO ONE, especially not the US Government, would allow such a thing to happen. If you're super top secret classified research base in the middle of nowhere suddenly disappears completely, and you find one guy that lived. Sure, take him to hospital, do tests, do scans. Why would you ever, EVER let him go? All these stories do the exact same thing, which is "threaten the one witness with prison or patriot act or NDA and give him lots of money so he stays quiet"<br><br>Why would you EVER do such a thing? Your hundreds of millions of dollar research base, along with countless researchers, scientists, engineers, and more all died during the incident. Why would you EVER, EVER let the one "human" that oculd maybe be "the anomaly" go? Forget giving him a million dollars to stay quiet. If you have the capability to classify and sweep under the rug the loss of an entire research base and hundreds of people, some of which are high end military and known scientists, and you can make that disappear, why would you ever let the one person go? If you can make 100 people disappear, you kill the dude. Why would you ever risk it? Even if they didn't think he was some sort of physics-breaking threat, even if you 100% knew he was just a normal dude, you don't give him a million dollars and a NDA. You fucking shoot him in the head, and toss him into the hole where your research base disappeared too.<br><br>No one, not an oil company, not a mining company, and certainly not a government investigating some weird anomaly would EVER let that person go. Period. It is the stupidest fucking trope. You can make a research base and hundreds of people disappear, but you can't for ONE DUDE? Yea right
