  I’ve explored caves and abandoned mines, but if I ever have to exhale and shimmy just to get through a section, I’m simply not going through that section lol

  the most bonkers thing to me about the thai cave rescue is just the EXISTENCE of dr richard harris. like youre telling me that:<br>- the situation somehow manage to develop in such a way that they needed someone who was both an expert anesthesiologist and an expert cave diver, which is an insane combination of skills;<br>- a guy actually existed who had in fact maxed out both those skill trees;<br>- that guy was ALREADY FRIENDS with two of the guys at the site and therefore was willing to pick up the phone when they called him (side note that realisation had to have been the most surreal movie moment for stanton and volanthen, talk about an &quot;i know a guy&quot; trope); and<br>- he was available and managed to get from australia to thailand in time to help. <br><br>like, stanton was probably the only person on earth who had the specific skillset they needed. and they actually managed to find him. it blows my mind.

  lets not forget that when you get stuck, you&apos;re counting on other good people to come and save you. to risk their lives and their time with their families, both in the form of death and injury, to save your sorry ass. yeah no thanks.
