Id like to request a Rowan closet tour!!
He has such fun colorful clothes, and as a daycare teacher in Utah (people here love neutrals 😭) I find it so refreshing

I love the parenting and child content!! As someone without a village it’s so nice to see and hear what other moms are doing online (in a realistic not highlight real way)

I feel once you have 2 kids, being able to put 1 into childcare and only being with the baby, very much feels like a rest😂

man YT really is doing way too much work showing me 3 different thumbnails in the span of a day, like I would have clicked on the first time if I had the time to sit down and watch it 😭😭

Being a childfree aunt, every year my sisters and I try to go on holiday together in the summer with their kids! we usually rent a house with a pool for a week, and in the past we’ve done activities like castles or villages in the morning and quiet time + pool time in the afternoon. It’s worked well with their kids from 2 yo - lt’s a bit trickier with a baby because group logistics around naps/feeding time/managing heat is a challenge at that age. But one big plus is that we’ve outnumbered the children at least 2:1 so it really spreads out the childcare duties AND household chores amongst the adults (parents and aunts/uncles)! I feel like it’s going to be even easier as the kids grow up because they’ll be able to play together and entertain themselves more.

I love the "on hand" help with grandparents - but what is aaalmost as great is other parents! In some ways it's even better as the kids can play together!
Then you can take turns having dates and also just generally being together basking in more adults per child. Something about playing with other peoples children is also weirdly fun. I have friends that do hotswaps with other friends that have similiarly aged kids so the sibling dynamic is out (so one pair of parents has the 2 older and the other pair has the 2 younger for example)

Maybe Melanie wants to go on holiday? Or some fun peeps from the school?

Ok Hannah, here's my top 3: Gdansk in Poland is a SUPER destination with kids: public transport everywhere, beaches, great zoo, entertainment everywhere and very nice people. 2: Find yourself a Eurocamp in France on a lake and/or a river 3: An all inclusive in Turkey, sea, pool, beautiful, really amazing landscapes, friendly people and lots of trips from the hotel with a minibus to local sights or towns. Have fun planning your next holiday!

We were on your flight to the south of France in 2024! My boyfriend’s head is the small bit of head you can see right behind your husband’s head. I was too nervous about bothering you to say hi but this is a fun reminder!

Another vote for cruising- can get lots of cruises from Southampton or London Tilbury. Kids clubs and could still have grandparents who could go off and explore ports on their own terms, consistent access to pools on board and bodies of water in port, very little car travel involved.

Go on holiday with friends who have kids. Coparenting a group of similarly aged kids is much easier than parenting your own child(ren) and you can distribute decision making and food prep amongst the adults. It solves for having other adults around but also ones who expect to do kid activities.

My daughter just turned 4 and we're only now finding holidays doable again, prior to that we've tried 2 holidays and both times it was awful. She barely slept and so we barely slept for both holidays, came back feeling worse than before we'd left. But we just did a a few nights away with her and it was miles better now that she sleeps and we don't need as much equipment to take her anywhere

I think one of the important parts of holiday preparation with kids is mental preparation, that it's just not going to be as restful and relaxing as a holiday alone or with a helpful "village" around you. The best you can do is finding a place with some kind of child care at a place where your preferred holiday activities are. I come from Germany, we like going on farm holidays at the sea with kids, where they are busy with farm animals and nature, and we can also get some fun at the beach.
