Not sure what kind of winter we are going to get here in Oregon this year. But I’ve started my fall cleaning of the old deep litter in the coop and cleaning up the chicken run, preparing for the cold. 🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥 We have added 6 new chicks to our flock this year and currently have them being raised and loved on, inside the house until they are old enough to be put into a gated section of the chicken run with a smaller coop. We will transfer the porcelain heater out to the chicken coop once our new chicks are old enough to go out. They will be nice and cozy until it’s time to release them into the larger chicken run with the rest of the adult chickens.<br>Our new chicks are little cuddle bugs who love to snuggle on our laps and shoulders. <br>Have a beautiful day, sweetheart, and keep sharing your knowledge with universe 😊😍

This 1000%!! I'm also in the Pacific Northwest. I'm sure there's some regions that don't have to worry as much, like maybe coastal California? But goodness the rain's coming!!

Our chickens are getting Comfrey, Plantain, Dandelion greens and Cleavers right now. I'll add cider vinegar, garlic and oregano. I will start fermenting their feed again. Thank you for reminding me about parasites during Fall.

Stinging nettles! Thank u for the tip! I have dried nettles that i make tinctures of for myself. I'll have to add it to the chicken feed too❤❤
