Nothing more emotional than a mother daughter duo watching this movie for the first time. I wasn't prepared to cry today but this movie always gets me.

As a grown man of 42 years old, this movie still makes me tear up every time. Even watching reactions to it.

Michelle Yeoh is quite literally a female Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan. She’s done stunts where she’s had to jump onto a moving train while on a motor cycle and almost died jumping from a moving truck to a car. She’s an amazing actress so iconic

This movie is such a “you get it or you don’t” moment. It’s crazy to me that some people didn’t like it. Beyond the cinematography, costume design, original idea, etc., it healed something inside me and changed my relationship with my mom.

I will continue to shout from the rooftops how amazing this movie is to anyone who will listen. I don't care if it sounds like hyperbole, but this movie literally cured my depression! I've always been a bit of a nihilist who believed that nothing we did matters. I was Jobu without the cool powers. I believed that, eventually, the human race will end, the sun will explode, the universe will collapse in on itself, etc... so why bother? What is the point of life and living, if nothing we do matters.

This movie taught me a different way to view that same nihilism: if nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do.

We can profoundly affect the world we live in just by being kind. Whether you believe in "religion" or "god" or "a higher power" or just that we are a giant coincidence created by billions of things going EXACTLY right to create a living being that can perceive the universe which created it. None of that matters. What matters is what we do with the time that we're here. That's all. Nothing else. It doesn't matter if our efforts are appreciated, or even noticed, because we control how we perceive the universe in which we live!

This movie is a modern miracle that spoke to my soul, and no matter how many times I watch it, I'm exhausted from crying at the end. This movie is..... EVERYTHING.

And to top everything off, they won seven of the eleven Oscars they were nominated for! I don't think I've ever actually cheered aloud at an award announcement, but I sure as heck did for this movie! Louder and louder each time they won and literally stood up and danced for the Best Picture!

Thank you for sharing YOUR reaction to this movie with the world.

Crying and laughing and saying “it’s so good!” Is the perfect representation of what this movie is all about. 😂❤

People always say they can do without the hotdog fingers or butt plugs but they are in there SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE it makes people uncomfortable and they want to make you feel every emotion at least once in this movie, the culmination being the end where you are simultaneously sobbing, but also laughing, but then repulsed by the hot fingers, ect. This movie has absolutely no problem making thier audience uncomfy and thats what makes the satisfying moments hit so hard! Just genius work.

Wow seeing a mother/daughter reaction to this added an extra layer of BIG FEELING to this. 😭

The line when she says “Now, I don’t have to do it alone.” Killed me. The bagel represents her depression and destruction. Suicide. I was in a theater w 5 people. Strangers. After, we all just visited for a few min before we left. I’d never experienced that ever before. It’s easily one of my top 10 favs of all time. When we see Mom and Joy embracing at the end, one of the multiverse versions is two planets colliding. That’s powerful.

Shes actually such a good representation of either an immigrant mother or 2nd generation. My mom is 2nd generation and she acts exactly like Evelyn. Super stressed out, hard worker, and most all, really weird about gay people and extremely mean to us even tho I know she cares. The scene where she says Joy is getting fat was so insanely accident. My mom will be telling me that im too skinny, I have a ton of scars all over my arms so shes always telling me to cover it up in some way. She didn’t believe in therapy or mental health help. Shes adverse to it now still, but more open to it. Especially therapy, but not so much medication.

Another mind-blowing fact about this movie is all the special effects you see in it were done by only 5 people.

The beauty of this story is when Evelyn hit rock bottom she was rescued by her husband who she thought was useless! Once he lifted Evelyn up and out of the abyss of nihilism, she then had the insight and fortitude necessary to save her daughter from suicide.
