My Hero Academia SHOULD be really good, why isn't it?

I think Izuku should have dealt with all the trauma that Bakugo gave him as a kid. Actually realising Izuku's not to blame for his own bullying and calling kacchan Bakugou instead.

I feel like if deku was given
a savior complex with a side of an inferiority complex to mirror
Bakugo’s god complex/gifted kid syndrome

It would be more interesting

They also did the female characters dirty. Like real dirty.

I’m glad this wasn’t just straight trashing the show. It was just explaining legit issues that if fixed would make the show better. A lot of people just mock the show and call it overrated instead of actually critiquing it. I love this show a lot but I still see some of the issues. I mostly love the show for its characters. Even them just hanging out for an entire episode is entertaining to me.😂

I so strongly disagree that fundamentally good protagonists are bad or boring, especially when they are supposed to be heroes. Deku would probably be a great main character, if he didn't receive a quirk. In mha setting, a story of a quirkless hero, proving what actually makes you a hero, would be way more interesting than whatever we got.

I will say you are absolutely correct that Deku being mad at someone would be interesting... and thats happened a few times. What is arguably the BEST fight of the show has this as a "turning the tables moment". Deku VS Todoroki. While yes, Deku does end up fighting with a different goal, the core root of all Dekus passion in that fight is that Todoroki wanting to be the best whil NOT giving 100% pisses him off because Deku has to barely get by while trying his hardest.

I never personally thought that Deku was a boring protag (despite many people sharing this opinion), and I've never before seen anyone be able to actually Explain Why they think he's boring. I appreciate you for giving such a considerate explanation so that I can at least understand this perspective!

I believe the main problems dont start to show until War arc, The only complaint i have about that arc is it feels feels rushed... Idk if thats just me... The vigilante deku is rushed like
The arc is seven episodes... And 20 manga chapters, for such a great arc its rushed.
Also deku has hid only character development ever in that arc. He loses the things that made him worthy of one for all. His heroism and everything, he learns to also care about himself as the vigilante arc is him pushing others, he learns that he needs friend's and he cant neglect certain aspects of himself.
Also the things he loses of his character in that arc basically just come, back and it feels like forced character development...
Idk if ur a manga reader because of that i wont include alot of stuff.

deku didn't really need a character arc more so he needed moral dilliemas to solve.

For the plus ultra part i disagree with the mirko one. Plus ultra really just means going harder or hitting harder it doesnt necessarily means going through the pain and still going on because thats a thing in every single anime, u get hit but u keep fighting. Plus ultra is a different thing, in mirkos case she even said herself she fights every day thinking that she will die so she has no regrets. So thats just her going through the pain like a real life brave soldier and just fulfilling her duty even in the most hopeless situations

Bakugo had wealthy loving parents, a nice life in a safe suburban city, entered the most prestigious hero school in the country, and had cool amazing powers that everyone else admired.
He was just evil lmao
