I'm older and trying to recover from surgery; the nurses say upon visits: "oh, you're watching films where the actors actually act", and I agree Much appreciation and respect for meaningful films depicting history and how differently things used to be when defining good entertainment decades ago!

Such wonderful acting, they don't make films like this anymore. My Mum was born in 1927 and I think what great films she was able to see. God rest you my Beautiful Mum xxxxx

I grew up watching movies like this when I was a kid. Love the old black and white films. They had wonderful actors and actresses.

In addition to the great cast and storyline, can we pause for a moment and bow our heads to Edith Head? Barbara Stanwyck's costumes are sublime; especially the white jacket with the bias cut hood!

This film was my introduction to Lizabeth Scott. She quickly became one of my favorite classic era starlets after that. 💛
