  Dear Lisa and Allison,<br>I recently discovered your Back Porch podcast, and I truly enjoy listening to your conversations. Today&apos;s episode touched me on a very personal level.<br>I lost my dear mother when she was only 52 years old, and during COVID I lost my father, who had dementia. Then, in October 2025, I lost my beloved husband after an 18-month battle with a brain tumor. He was 66 years old, and we had been married for 46 years.<br>Together, we also lost two children, but we were blessed with two wonderful sons, born 16 years apart. So we&apos;ve known more than our share of grief. That is why it can be difficult to fully understand the verse that teaches us that sorrow can sometimes be better than laughter... but I am learning.<br>Many years ago, my husband gave me Proverbs 31 as a gift. Not because I had made curtains or quilts 🙈, but because he recognized something of me in those words. It happened years ago, but I have never forgotten it.<br>Listening to your podcast today brought up many emotions, but it also reminded me how much I still have to be grateful for, despite the grief.<br>Thank you for this conversation.   Thank you for your teaching on Proverbs 31, because when I read it, I often think, Hoo boy, that woman never gets a chance to sleep.
