Saint Cyril. Homily 1 on the Gospel of Saint Luke

"The natures, however, which combined unto this real union were different, but from the two together is one God the Son, without the; diversity of the natures being destroyed by the union. For a union of two natures was made, and therefore we confess One Christ, One Son, One Lord. And it is with reference to this notion of a union without confusion that we proclaim the holy Virgin to be the mother of God, because God the Word was made flesh and became man, and by the act of conception united to Himself the temple that He received from her. For we perceive that two natures, by an inseparable union, met together in Him without confusion, and indivisibly. For the flesh is flesh, and not deity, even though it became the flesh of God: and in like manner also the Word is God, and not flesh, though for the dispensation's sake He made the flesh His own. But although the natures which concurred in forming the union are both different and unequal to one another, yet He Who is formed from them both is only One: nor may we separate the One Lord Jesus Christ into man severally and God severally, but we affirm that Christ Jesus is One and the Same, acknowledging the distinction of the natures, and preserving them free from confusion with one another."

Sam is right it is very confusing about St. Cyril is being considered as saint in Eastern Orthodox even after he did not accept Chalcedon. Something is wrong there.

Has anyone hear of Paul of Emesa or John of Antioch? I would like someone to show me a sermon that is orthodox where Christ is spoken in both terms/ways according to 433 AD Letter of reunion.

13:05 Point 1 - The formula of the reunion replaces 12 anathemas and the council of Ephesus.
Point 2 - The union was done in a way without clear understanding.

I hold a different view. John and Paul both condemned Nestorius and accepted the anathemas.
See Letter 39 and 40 and the homilies of Paul of Emesa in Alexandria in front of St Cyril. St Cyril had full and clear understanding of what Paul and John taught, which he called Orthodox and Valid. I do not believe that St Cyril could have been duped lol. Paul of Emesa, preached in front of St Cyril and the Alexandrian crowd and was met with a concelebration!

I do hold this position tho, whilst Anticohene Christology is legitmate and valid, Cyrillian Christology should be numero uno.

Does it help to give titles to the short videos to make them more searchable? For example, for this video “ACOE subdeacon affirms miaphysitism of Ephesus I” or “Is Dyophysitism rejected in the Council of Ephesus I?” etc
