  I empathize so much with Jade. &nbsp;I found photos of me on my stepdad’s computer ages 14-17. I didn’t see them until I was 18 a senior in highscool. He had a camera in my room. I felt so violated. The feelings of rage I had were indescribable. It took me 8 years to report it

  Honestly, after hearing repeated stories of the justice system giving a slap on the wrist to offenders that have even done way worse than this and put the victims through the torture of having to testify, I can understand why she felt backed into a corner.

  My first thought was that if Jade had gone to the police and pressed charges, she&apos;d have been required to be violated repeatedly as the photos would be the evidence in review. That seems rather unmanageable for anyone who has experienced such a grotesque betrayal. I have no idea what I&apos;d have done and, in this case, I can&apos;t judge.

  &quot;The police wouldve done something&quot; I think by the amount of cases youve covered by now we know the police and social services often do NOTHING in cases of abuse and assault. She should have tried yes, but there is a huge possibility they wouldve dismissed it for millions of small reasons like if theres a statue of limitations on some of the offenses

  As a victim of a similar thing to jade, I pressed charges. I was raped repeatedly for 6 years of my life by my father. He took pictures of me against my will and those were presented as evidence. They gave him year probation and that was all. During the trial, i took stand and i was questioned by my rapists lawyer, and he called me schizophrenic and crazy. I can&apos;t imagine it would have gone much different for her. I cannot empathize with the murder victim, only her.

  she found out a relationship she considered sacred, a man she viewed as her father, for decades and while she was a minor had been privately sexually exploiting her image. what he did was so beyond violating and inhumane, i can&apos;t even comprehend it. murder or not, i just can&apos;t do anything but empathize for jade. the fact she didn&apos;t want to expose her stepfather but rather wanted him indefinitely gone is proof she was scared. she didn&apos;t even want to think about what he had done, she just wanted to feel safe again and the only way she could do so was by knowing he was gone. she needs rehabilitation, not jail-time. this woman is a victim.

  Tom is disgusting and HE turned her life upside down by violating her trust so deeply. But it’s just so tragic to think that she could’ve eventually moved on with her life, moved away, never talked to him again, rebuilt and found peace, but she chose to ruin her life even more by murdering him. And this plan could’ve been slick, it had potential 🥴 but it’s so unbelievable to me when people leave all this evidence and think no one’s gonna see their texts. In this day and age!! Still, I hope she’ll be able to appeal and get her sentence reduced in the future.

  This is such a crazy case. Of course Jade was wrong to do what she did, but I’m having a hard time really feeling bad for the victim. Furthermore, life in prison is an INSANE sentence. So many more evil criminals have received far less.
