Thank you for making it explicit when historians disagree about things. It's the only honest way to deal with this.

As Sir Duke Arthur Wellesley has said, “The history of battle is not unlike the history of a ball. Some individuals may recollect all the little events of which the great result is the battle won or lost, but no individual can recollect the order in which, or the exact moment at which, they occurred, which makes all the difference as to their value or importance.”
Despite this, looking back and trying to gain understanding of such fleeting moments in such trying times… well, that’s why I love history.
Keep up the good work.

Great analysis. I'm 45 and been studying WWII since I was about 10 years old. I love how I STILL learn something new from time to time. Thanks for the vid!

the 88mm gun gave the Tiger essentially a "sniper" cpability. The range and power of the gun gave them stand-off capability to pick off T 34s at a greater range. A Tiger would never close in and do close quarters tank dual if possible. Would be like doing CQB with a sniper rifle.

My grandgrandfather was present at a battle of Prochorovka. I don't know much about him or his story, only that he was T-34 driver and a direct hit made turret fly away. He was the only one who survived, so he crawled outside and fell into a ditch, where a Panzer III seing him supposedly made circles around him, throwing mud to the ditch and trying to burry him alive. My grandpha still even keeps medals from that battle, trully a gruesome battle. And in the whole russian-speaking world there is this huge myth abput Prochorovka, that "it was there where the tide of war was changed"

This video honestly have astonished me, i was so used to this idea of "heroic soviet tankists"、while in reality it seems to be as usual - unneccesairly bloody, and tragic. I guess i gonna go talk to my grandpha now

The Battle of Leyte Gulf would be fascinating to see in this format, from the Darter and Dace tearing apart Kurita's cruisers and the loss of the Musashi, the one sided beatdown off of the Surigao strait, all the way to the first organized Kamikaze attacks after the Battle off Samar (in multiple videos of course)

It's a shame you cannot film in location because that place is a warzone again.

80 years later, important battles in the same location.

Thanks for the one video! This is depicted in a 1970s Russian mini series called Liberation. It's on the youtube mosfilm channel in HD with subtitles. Awesome epic war series, especially the part about this battle! BTW, myth or real, it's a fun scene to watch T-34s ramming Tiger tanks!

Feb 2026, I think this would be the 3rd time I've viewed this miniseries thru. Such excellent work. WE WANT MORE JUST LIKE THIS. The details are amazing. There are so many episodes/battles from the east, Italy, north Africa, and western front to choose from that would make great content if given this same treatment. It's just too bad you don have unlimited resources with which to produce them....but you should....this channel is criminally under appreciated. It seriously makes me sad and frustrated to compare the interest level here with, for example, the AI slop, and conspiracy theorists.
